Liquid, specialized medical nutrition and baby food is produced at the Nutricia location in Zoetermeer. Products that contribute to the well-being of their users. The products from Zoetermeer are distributed to 46 countries. The Nutricia factory in Zoetermeer has existed since 1896 and stands for innovation, advanced technology and high quality. This is due to the very high requirements for the products for the vulnerable target groups: babies, the elderly and the sick.

In 2016, SRBA Controlled Environments (SRBA CE) was asked to build a High Care (Cleanroom) space in collaboration with PP4CE partners Kuijpers and Denios BV. The room in question is equipped, among other things, with a 65 m² stainless steel down-flow cabin from Denios. Protein-containing and protein-free products are produced in the cabin in question, alternating in periods of several weeks.

Between the various process runs, the entire clean room must be cleaned extremely thoroughly. It goes without saying that mixing of raw materials or finished products in any form must be avoided. Supply of raw materials takes place from completely separate warehouses and access control of personnel is provided in a specially designed changing room.

The clean room is approximately 80 m² in size and has a height of 2.7 and partially 6 m high. The construction is based on our BCPS (Brecon Cassette Panel System). Walls, ceiling, doors and windows are therefore prefabricated and can be installed on site quickly and without additional work. The 4 high-speed roll-up doors were supplied and installed by PP4CE partner Assa Abloy. SRBA CE also equipped the space with a Delphin central vacuum system, in stainless steel.

The Epoxy Trowel floor, with hollow baseboards, was supplied and installed by Nutricia’s in-house supplier “Stonehard” on behalf of SRBA CE.

The complete HVAC installation, for the entire hall and the clean room in particular, was designed and installed by PP4CE partner Kuijpers.

Cleaning for validation was performed by PP4CE partner WERO. This company was also commissioned to perform the recurrent cleaning at a Process Corridor Change.

The validation, performed by PP4CE partner CMI, was successfully completed and this allowed the cleanroom to be released for production within the time plan.

The changing rooms, and locks in the warehouse as well as the 112 m² sandwich panel partition, with a height of 9 meters, were also installed by SRBA CE.
