The year 2017 was spent for a large part of our team at SRBA Controlled Environments (SRBA CE) mainly at the Nijmegen site of MJN. At the end of 2016, SRBA CE was asked to engineer a design for the conversion of an existing production space, fully equipped with machinery and a large pipe network, covering an area of approximately 400 m2. Not only the design for the conversion of an existing and operating production area to a “high- and mid-care” environment with “Controlled Environment” was a challenge, but above all to realize this in three weeks time, was a particularly tough task. Together with our PP4CE partner Kuijpers, we set to work.

After an extensive period of preparation and engineering, mostly based on EHEDG guidelines, and in excellent cooperation with MJN’s specialist team, the job began with a motivated group of employees, 120 people strong! 23 days of 24 hours was the framework within which the job had to be done! No minute was left unused, no problem was too big and together we worked “hard” full time for over 3 weeks on this project. Within the specified time limit and completely in accordance with the client’s wishes, the team was able to deliver this project. Execution of a task that seemed seemingly impossible at the start, and yet realized correctly, something all team members involved can be proud of!

This work was performed by SRBA CE including: BCPS/ HPL wall system, windows and doors (steel) and the SRBA CE walkable BPV100 ceiling.

In addition to this project, corrective and preventive maintenance work at the site has been ongoing since its realization over the years. Many works have already been done and much remains to be done.
