Renovation project Hilton Food HollandHilton Food Group plc is a leading food packaging specialist. Customers are major international food distributors, including Tesco, Ahold, Albert Heijn, ICA, Rimi and Coop Danmark. Operations are conducted from state-of-the-art facilities in six European countries. Founded in 1994, Hilton began its business with a central meat processing facility for meat and lamb in the United Kingdom.Today, with more than 3,600 employees, Hilton has plants in Europe and Australia. The group's operations include the Netherlands since 2000, Sweden and Ireland since 2004, Poland since 2006 and Denmark since 2011. Innovation is at the core of Hilton's strategic approach, both in terms of the development of new products and the range of services offered to their customers, which primarily consists of packaging beef, lamb and also pork. Growth has been achieved through geographical expansions and range expansion as well as underlying growth in the market achieved by Hilton's Retail customers.

In the fall of 2017, SRBA Controlled Environments (SRBA CE) was able to start renovation work on the ceilings, present in the various rooms at the Hilton location in Zaandam. The work in this first phase consisted of the removal and replacement of the metal ceiling system, over an area of approximately 800 m². The new system installed is a metal ceiling system from Durlum. Partly this ceiling was completely closed and partly the sheet metal was perforated. The steel was coated with a special powder coating with antibacterial effect, specifically for the food industry. The in-house installer immediately renewed all the lighting units.

Particular challenge to this job was the time schedule. The work could only be done on the Saturday from noon until Sunday morning around 4 a.m. The final delivery went smoothly and within the agreed time schedule!

A qualitatively successful renovation project in the Food industry, where SRBA CE was able to fully display its expertise and flexibility. It was the start of an almost annual assignment to completely renew part by part all ceilings in the production facility!
