Kuijpers received an order in mid-2016 to build a compounding pharmacy for The Hague Hospitals. This was a design & build assignment for the complete mechanical engineering as well as the building-constructive part. SRBA Controlled Environments (SRBA CE) was asked by Kuijpers, as PP4CE partner, to complete the structural part. Almost the entire year 2017 was spent working on the project and before Christmas the work was fully validated and delivered to the great satisfaction of the clients.

The work included 2100 m2 of GMP cleanrooms for SRBA CE, split almost evenly between the ground and second floors. The rooms are GMP A-B-C and D compliant. The walls were built using the semi-flush executed wall system (BSPS) developed by SRBA CE, supplied by our PP4CE partner Trimo. The ceilings in the B and C rooms feature the flush Brecon Cassette Panel System (BCPS) and the circulation room and D classified clean rooms feature the prescribed Armstrong Biogard Acoustic system

The design featured a large proportion of wall panels with low air intake and approximately 500 m3/hr of return air transport, through the integrated air ducts. There were also a large proportion of technical panels containing the various utilities. There were also 4 VHP locks built, completely in stainless steel and equipped with 8 certified gas-tight doors. The floors were executed in Gerflor Mipolam material, and of course equipped with integrated hollow skirting boards. Notable was the large number of HPL executed PTCs (Pass Through Cabinet). These were 18 cabinets, 7 of which included air treatment. All supplied by SRBA Clean Interior.

On behalf of SRBA CE, PP4CE partner Wero, handled the cleaning work during the construction period. Final cleaning and validation was performed in-house by the client.
